Mission & Core Values
Mission Statement
To reduce suffering in the world by providing education and training to best support individuals with emotional, behavioral, and developmental disabilities.
Core Values
At the core of the Francis Foundation’s services is a values-based philosophy.
People who are suffering from mental health problems and developmental disabilities deserve treatment that is both timely and appropriate for their condition.
Treatment should be based on current research and understanding of trauma, attachment disorders, mental health, and developmental disabilities, not simply on motivational strategies or behavioral interventions.
It’s important to recognize the effects of past experiences and trauma on current behavior. The past determines the present, but the present determines the future. Treatment in the present is critical for both recovery and future success.
